Custom ID's can be found in Company Settings (https://app.bulksource.com/account/account-settings)
BulkSource allows administrators to configure custom ID settings that control how Quotes, Orders, and Scale Tickets are numbered and labeled. These settings are typically configured once during initial account onboarding.
Custom ID settings define both the starting number and any prefixes or suffixes applied to each record type, allowing BulkSource to align with existing numbering conventions or legacy systems.
Quotes
For quotes, you can specify the starting number used when creating the first quote in BulkSource. This is commonly used during system migrations. For example, if the last quote number in a previous system was 1324, you can configure BulkSource so that the first new quote starts at 1325.
You may also assign a prefix or suffix to quote numbers. For example, adding a “Q” prefix allows quotes to be easily identified (e.g., Q-1325).
Orders
Orders can be configured with their own prefix. When a quote is converted into an order, the numeric portion of the ID remains the same, but the prefix may change. For example, Q-1325 may become O-1325 once converted to an order.
Quote and order numbers increment sequentially across the entire company, ensuring a single, consistent numbering sequence.
Scale Tickets
Scale tickets increment differently than quotes and orders. Ticket numbers are generated at the site level, meaning each site maintains its own sequential numbering.
As with quotes and orders, you can define the starting ticket number and apply optional prefixes or suffixes. For example, adding a “T-” prefix makes it immediately clear when a referenced record is a scale ticket versus a quote or order.
Together, these settings help teams quickly identify record types and maintain continuity with established business processes.
