Mix Design Products

Mix Design Products are managed within the Bid Optimization module and are intended for products composed of multiple input materials, such as asphalt or ready-mix concrete.

Unlike raw material products, mix designs allow you to define:

• The full recipe of input materials
• The percentage contribution of each input
• One or more potential source locations for each input material

When a mix design is created, BulkSource automatically generates a corresponding product in the Product Master within the Sales module. This eliminates the need to duplicate product setup across modules.

Using mix designs provides two primary benefits:

• Improved inventory tracking, as raw material inventory can be drawn down based on defined input percentages
• Price index support, enabling automated price adjustments for inputs such as liquid asphalt or other indexed materials

Mix designs allow BulkSource to model complex products more accurately while maintaining a seamless sales and operational workflow.
