How Do I Match Orders Between BulkSource and My External System?

BulkSource supports two-way order reconciliation, so you can always trace a record back to its originating system regardless of which side it was created on.

If the order was created in BulkSource first: BulkSource generates the order/quote number. That number is passed into your external system and stored on a designated field — so the BulkSource Order ID lives in your external system for easy reference.

If the order was created in your external system first: BulkSource's import endpoints accept your external system's ID alongside each incoming record. That external Order ID is stored in BulkSource and mapped to the corresponding BulkSource Project ID. In practice: External System Order ID = BulkSource Project ID.

This pattern works in both directions and allows your teams to look up, cross-reference, and reconcile orders across systems without manual matching.
