BulkSource integrations use a cadence-based (scheduled polling) approach to sync data between your external system and BulkSource.
Here's how it works: BulkSource checks your connected system on a regular schedule — typically every couple of minutes — to pick up new records. A separate, less frequent cycle runs to capture edits or updates to existing records (a "full reconciliation pass"). This approach has proven reliable in production environments and provides near-real-time data for day-to-day operational workflows.
What about event-based (webhook/push) integrations?
Event-based integrations — where your external system pushes data to BulkSource the moment something changes — are technically possible, but they require your source system to support and reliably emit those events. This type of integration is a custom scoped build rather than a standard out-of-the-box capability. If you believe your workflow requires event-based triggers, please contact your BulkSource Implementation team to discuss options.
